Africa Set to Host 2027 ODI World Cup

Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - The International Cricket Council has unveiled the 12 venues for the 2027 ICC Men's ODI World Cup, with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia set to co-host the tournament. It will mark the World Cup's return to Africa after 24 years.

South Africa will host matches at eight venues, while Zimbabwe will stage games in Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls. Namibia's capital, Windhoek, will also host World Cup fixtures. The venues were announced at a ceremony in Johannesburg attended by ICC Chairman Jay Shah and several cricketing legends.

The 2027 World Cup will feature 57H matches under a new three-stage format designed to increase competitiveness. A Super Series and group stage will determine the seven teams advancing to the Super 7, with the top four sides progressing to the semi-finals before the final.

With a revamped format and 12 venues across three nations, the 2027 ODI World Cup promises to bring the biggest cricket tournament back to Africa in grand style.
