Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - India will look to continue its medal-winning run on Day 7 of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with athletes competing across track and field, weightlifting, para-athletics and swimming. After securing eight medals over the last two days, the Indian contingent will be aiming to add to its tally on Wednesday.
India's biggest medal hopes rest on long jumper Sreeshankar Murali, who qualified for the men's final with an 8.01m jump and will be joined by Lokesh Satyanathan. In weightlifting, Sanjana will compete in the women's 77kg final, while Parul Chaudhary will challenge for a medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase. Manpreet Kaur will also feature in the women's shot put final.
In para-athletics, Devender Kumar and Sagar Thayat will compete in the men's discus throw, while Mohammed Basil M and Dilip Mahadu Gavit will line up in the men's 100m T47 event. Swimmer Aryan Nehra will race in the men's 1500m freestyle final, while Sajan Prakash, Aneesh S Gowda, Suyash Narayan Jadhav and Chaitanya Vishwas Kulkarni will begin their campaigns in the heats.
India heads into Day 7 with confidence after Tuesday's silver medals from weightlifter Harjinder Kaur and long-distance runner Gulveer Singh. The contingent will now hope to convert strong performances into more podium finishes and further strengthen its position in the Commonwealth Games medal table.
