Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - India enjoyed another memorable day at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, adding one gold, two silver and one bronze medal across para athletics, weightlifting and high jump to take its overall medal tally to 10.
Leading India's charge was para shot putter Sharmila Dhankar, who struck gold in the women's F57 event with a commanding throw of 9.81m. The celebrations continued as Shilpa K Shyla earned a dramatic bronze after India's successful protest overturned a rival's throw, handing the debutant a place on the podium.
The momentum carried into athletics and weightlifting. Sarvesh Anil Kushare scripted history with India's best-ever Commonwealth Games result in the men's high jump, claiming silver with a clearance of 2.26m. In weightlifting, Valluri Ajaya Babu came agonisingly close to gold, settling for silver after missing the top spot by just 1kg with a total lift of 330kg.
With four more medals added to the tally, India continued its strong run in Glasgow, reinforcing its status as one of the standout performers at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
