Ananya Lohia , Australia - Josh Inglis will captain Australia national cricket team in the three-match ODI series against Pakistan national cricket team after Mitch Marsh was ruled out with an ankle injury suffered during the IPL. Marsh has returned to Perth after missing Lucknow Super Giants’ final IPL match and remains doubtful for the Bangladesh tour as he undergoes further assessment.
Australia are already without regular ODI captain Pat Cummins and vice-captain Travis Head because of IPL playoff commitments, while Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc will miss both the Pakistan and Bangladesh tours. Head is expected to join the squad later in Bangladesh. Marsh’s absence could hand teenager Ollie Peake an international debut. Australia’s squad also includes Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Marnus Labuschagne and Adam Zampa.
The series will begins on May 30 in Rawalpindi before moving to Lahore for the remaining matches on June 2 and June 4. Australia batter Matt Short said the team is prepared for challenging spin conditions and eager to bounce back after recent white-ball defeats against Pakistan, who won both the previous T20I and ODI series between the sides.
