Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - India Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill has broken his silence on the ongoing student protests, urging compassion, fairness and support for young people amid the nationwide agitation over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.

In an Instagram story, Gill said India's youth deserve every opportunity to learn, dream and build the nation's future. He expressed respect for students raising their voices peacefully and stressed that education should remain at the heart of the ongoing debate. He ended his message with the words, "For India's future."
The protests, led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), have intensified since the Monsoon Session of Parliament began, with demonstrators demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged paper leak. Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan also backed students, saying no paper leak should be allowed to destroy their hard work and dreams.
As the protests continue, voices from the sporting world are joining the call for a fair and transparent education system that protects students' futures.
