Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - Afghanistan are set to host India in a three-match T20I series in New Delhi in September as both teams gear up for the men's cricket competition at the Asian Games.
According to reports, the T20Is will be held on September 13, 15 and 17. While Afghanistan have hosted several international teams in India before, this will be the first time they will host India on Indian soil due to the lack of international cricket infrastructure in Afghanistan.
The series comes ahead of the Asian Games men's cricket competition, scheduled from September 24 to October 1. India have named a strong squad led by Shreyas Iyer, with stars including Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi expected to feature.
The T20I series is expected to provide valuable match practice for both teams before they begin their Asian Games campaign.
