India showed their strength in the Asia Cup 2025 opener by defeating the United Arab Emirates with ease in Dubai. The star of the match was Kuldeep Yadav, who stunned UAE’s batting lineup with three wickets in a single over. His spell left the opposition struggling, as they were bowled out for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs.
Chasing a small target, India wrapped up the match in only 4.3 overs. Young opener Abhishek Sharma smashed 30 runs from 16 balls, while captain Shubman Gill stayed unbeaten on 20 runs to guide the team home. The win highlighted India’s powerful form ahead of tougher clashes in the tournament.
After the match, UAE head coach Lalchand Rajput praised the Indian team and admitted that competing against them was a big challenge. He said India, as world champions, have the ability to crush any team in the competition if they continue to play with the same dominance.
The coach also noted that matches against top cricketing nations provide valuable experience for the UAE side, which is still building its strength in international cricket. He stressed that such opportunities help players learn and grow, even if the result is tough.
India’s commanding performance not only boosted their confidence but also sent a clear message to other teams in the Asia Cup that they remain the side to beat.
