Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has urged the Centre and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protesters to resolve the ongoing student agitation through dialogue, as protests over alleged examination irregularities continue in the national capital.
Taking to Instagram, Yuvraj said every student deserves the opportunity to learn in peace and pursue their dreams in a safe environment. He called for communities built on care, opportunity and hope, adding that dialogue was the best way to find an amicable solution for the future of India's youth.
His appeal comes as thousands of CJP supporters continue their sit-in at Jantar Mantar, demanding education reforms and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The movement intensified after clashes between protesters and police during the 'Chalo Sansad' march, in which several people were injured. Despite the crackdown, the protesters have vowed to continue their agitation, while the CJP has also urged activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike and focus on his health.
As the protests enter another phase, Yuvraj Singh's appeal has added another prominent voice calling for peaceful dialogue and a resolution to the students' demands.
