National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has said that the situation along the India China border has remained quiet in recent months, though he stressed the importance of continuing dialogue to maintain peace. His remarks came during talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who noted that past setbacks in bilateral relations have caused harm to both countries.
Doval underlined that stability along the Line of Actual Control is essential for the overall progress of ties between New Delhi and Beijing. He also pointed out that mutual respect and adherence to agreements will be key in moving forward.
Wang Yi, meanwhile, acknowledged that strained relations in recent years have slowed down cooperation but insisted that both sides should work together to restore confidence. He said China is ready to engage constructively to resolve issues while promoting broader economic and strategic cooperation.
The meeting between the two leaders is being seen as part of efforts to rebuild trust after prolonged tensions at the border. Both sides agreed to continue diplomatic and military-level discussions to prevent misunderstandings and ensure stability.
