A woman sustained severe facial injuries after being attacked by a stray dog on the premises of a court in Karnataka. The incident took place when the dog suddenly charged at her, leaving her bleeding and in shock.
Eyewitnesses rushed to help and quickly moved the woman to a nearby hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. Her condition is reported to be stable but she will require further medical care due to the extent of the injuries.
Following the attack, locals overpowered the dog and beat it to death on the spot. The incident has sparked debate over the rising problem of stray dog attacks in urban and semi-urban areas across the state.
Residents have demanded stronger measures from authorities to control the stray dog population and ensure public safety, especially around crowded public spaces such as courts, schools, and markets.
The matter has also raised questions about balancing animal rights with the safety of citizens, a concern that continues to stir strong opinions in Karnataka and beyond.
