Desk Correspondent , Delhi - Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has voiced his support for Digvijaya Singh’s recent comments regarding the need for organizational discipline within the Congress party. Singh had earlier drawn a comparison between the disciplined structure of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the current state of the Congress, suggesting that his party could learn from the "dedication and discipline" seen in its ideological rival. Tharoor agreed that for any political organization to succeed, a sense of order and commitment among its members is essential.

While Tharoor and Singh remain ideologically opposed to the RSS, they believe that the structural strength of an organization should not be ignored.
Tharoor emphasized that building a strong cadre is necessary for the Congress to effectively challenge its opponents in future elections. During a discussion on the matter, Shashi Tharoor remarked, "There should be discipline in the party; without a structured approach, it is difficult to communicate our vision to the people." He clarified that this does not mean adopting the ideology of others, but rather improving the internal management of their own party.

The comments have sparked a debate within the political circles, with some leaders questioning the comparison to the RSS. However, supporters of the move argue that self-reflection is the first step toward reform. Tharoor further added, "We must ensure that every worker knows their role and works toward a common goal with total sincerity." As the Congress party looks to reorganize itself ahead of major upcoming polls, the call for "discipline" from senior leaders like Tharoor and Singh is being seen as a push for a more professional and united front.
