Ranit Kr. Singh , Kolkata - A 15-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly drugged with sedative-laced chocolate and raped inside a vehicle after being lured by a female friend and two unidentified young men last month. Based on a recent complaint filed by the victim's parents, law enforcement authorities have initiated a case of aggravated penetrative sexual assault under the relevant minor protection laws. The complaint names the two unknown youths and the victim's school friend as the primary accused in the assault.
According to police officials, the student boarded a car with the three individuals at around 4:30 PM immediately after school hours on the day of the incident. The victim has since guided investigators to the crime scene, which has been identified as an open area situated near a water body. As of Monday, no arrests have been made in connection with the crime, and authorities stated that they are still actively searching for independent witnesses to corroborate the sequence of events.
The girl’s school friend, who was named as a co-accused for allegedly facilitating the crime, has already undergone preliminary police interrogation. During her questioning, the teenager denied any involvement, claiming that she was absent from school entirely on the day the alleged assault took place. Investigators are currently verifying her alibi alongside vehicle tracking data to identify the two male suspects and establish the exact timeline of the offense.
