Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Manipur on Friday, marking his first trip to the state since the outbreak of violence in 2023. Addressing a public gathering, he expressed solidarity with the people and promised that the Centre would stand firmly with them during the recovery process.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the hardships faced by families affected by last year’s clashes and emphasized the government’s commitment to restoring peace and stability. He urged communities to move forward together, stressing that lasting progress could only be achieved through unity and reconciliation.
During his visit, Modi also reviewed rehabilitation efforts and development projects in the region. Officials highlighted the Centre’s initiatives to provide relief to displaced families, rebuild damaged infrastructure, and create new opportunities for youth.
The visit comes at a critical time for Manipur, as the state continues to heal from the violence that displaced thousands and disrupted livelihoods. Modi’s assurance of support is seen as a move to rebuild trust and accelerate the path toward normalcy.
