Women Lead CJP Protest Amid Clashes

Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - Thousands of protesters, including a large number of women and students, gathered at Jantar Mantar on Monday for the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) march towards Parliament, demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities.

Many women protesters said they had travelled from different parts of the country to join the demonstration, with some admitting they had not informed their families due to safety concerns. A 17-year-old protester alleged that she was manhandled by police while attempting to cross barricades and said the protesters were only seeking dialogue with the government over the alleged NEET controversy.

Security forces detained protesters from several locations, including Jantar Mantar, Mandi House and Parliament Street, after they attempted to march towards Parliament. Tear gas was also used near Shastri Bhawan as clashes broke out, while CJP members alleged that police dismantled the protest stage later in the evening. Despite the action, the organisers said the agitation would continue.

With heavy security deployed and protests showing no signs of slowing down, the standoff between demonstrators and authorities continues to intensify during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
