Bihar – Amidst the phase 1 of the Bihar assembly election, PM Narendra Modi addresses a public rally in Bihar’s Araria. He reaffirmed NDA’s vision of Padhai (Education), Kamai (Employment), Dawai (Medicine), Sinchai (Irrigation) and Sunwai – 5 promises. PM Modi stresses the NDA’s initiative of linking the Koshi-Mechi river worth 1000 Crores, which will help the farmers to get the benefits of irrigation.
PM Narendra Modi stressed the improvement of pulse (dal) and jute farmers. PM Modi criticized the 15 years of RJD rule when the jute farmers received less than 1000 Rs. per quintal of jute. PM Modi said, “Today the MSP of 1 quintal jute has gone over 5600 Rs.” Apart from agriculture, PM Modi slams the 15 years of RJD rule in different respects, such as development of medical infrastructure, road infrastructure, educational institutions and so on. "In 15 years of jungle raj in Bihar, how many expressways were built – Zero…how many bridges were built over the Kosi River – Zero…how many medical colleges were built - Zero. In those 15 years of jungle raj, not a single IIT came to Bihar, nor did a single IIM arrive.”
PM Modi tapped on the women's sentiments by reminding the 10,000 Rs. to 1.4 Crores women’s bank accounts under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana. Later, he stated that after “phone call” discussions with Bihar’s women, he understood that “the mothers and sisters of Bihar won’t let the Jungle Raj come back.”
PM Modi talked about the voters of Bihar coming to vote in the phase 1 election on social media. “Long lines have been forming at polling stations since the morning. Mothers, sisters, and daughters are coming out in large numbers to vote. There is unprecedented enthusiasm among the youth of Bihar as well. I congratulate all the voters. I appeal to the people to come out and cast their votes,” he said.
