Desk Correspondent , Delhi - A massive cold wave has swept across North India, bringing normal life to a complete standstill in many states. The weather office has issued a red alert for places like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi due to the extreme drop in temperature. In cities like Bareilly and Patna, the biting cold has forced people to stay indoors near heaters and small fires. Many residents are finding it difficult to start their day as the sun remains hidden behind thick clouds.

Thick fog has also covered the roads, making it very dangerous for drivers to see anything even a few feet away. Many flights and trains have been delayed or cancelled because of the low visibility, leaving travellers stranded at stations. The government has asked schools to change their timings or remain closed to protect young children from the freezing winds. People walking on the streets are seen wrapped in heavy blankets and woollen clothes to survive the harsh morning chill.

Health experts are advising everyone, especially the elderly, to be very careful as the cold continues to get worse. Local groups are setting up night shelters and providing warm blankets to help those who do not have a proper home. The weather department says that these freezing conditions might stay for a few more days before any relief comes. Until then, the entire region remains under a blanket of white fog, waiting for the warmth of the sun to return.
