A major hospital in Mumbai received a bomb threat that later turned out to be a hoax, sparking panic among staff and patients. The incident comes just days after authorities had issued a high alert warning about 34 suspected “human bombs” across the city.
Police said the hospital management reported the threat immediately, following which bomb detection and disposal squads rushed to the spot. After a thorough search, officials confirmed that no explosives were found.
The false alarm caused temporary chaos in the hospital, with some patients being shifted as a precaution. Security around key public places and medical facilities has since been stepped up.
Investigators are now trying to trace the source of the hoax call. Authorities warned that strict action will be taken against those responsible for creating fear and disrupting essential services.
The incident highlights heightened security concerns in Mumbai, where police and intelligence agencies remain on alert to prevent any potential attacks.
