Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kangra district on Monday after conducting an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Mandi and Kullu. The heavy rains have caused widespread damage in Himachal Pradesh, leading to loss of lives, destruction of homes, and disruption of road connectivity.
During the survey, the Prime Minister assessed the extent of damage to infrastructure, agriculture, and local communities. He assured that the Centre will provide all possible assistance to the state government for relief and rehabilitation work.
Local officials briefed him about the ongoing rescue operations, efforts to restore electricity and water supply, and the challenges in reaching remote areas cut off due to landslides. Modi emphasized that restoring normalcy and helping affected families rebuild their lives would be the government’s top priority.
