Fraud in the Name of Patients: 2,359 Hospitals Removed, 1,200 Banned

Shivani Jaiswal , New Delhi -  A major action has been taken against alleged irregularities in the name of patient treatment. Following an investigation, 2,359 hospitals have been removed from the scheme’s panel, while around 1,200 hospitals have been banned. The action has caused concern among institutions associated with healthcare services.

During the investigation, authorities examined hospital records, patient treatment details and claims related to healthcare services. Action was taken against hospitals where complaints of rule violations or suspicious activities were reported.

Officials aim to prevent any kind of financial irregularity carried out in the name of patients.
Following the action, monitoring of hospitals and healthcare schemes has been strengthened to protect the interests of patients and ensure greater accountability. The concerned agencies are examining hospital records and claims to prevent fraud and the submission of improper or false claims.
