Police in Noida have made a fourth arrest in connection with the dowry death of Nikki Bhati, taking her father in law into custody. The case, which has drawn widespread attention, involves allegations of harassment and cruelty by her in laws that allegedly led to her death.
Investigators said the father in law was arrested after fresh evidence linked him to the ongoing probe. Earlier, police had already detained three other family members, including Nikki’s husband, on charges of dowry harassment and abetment to suicide.
The young woman’s death has sparked outrage among local residents and activists, who continue to demand strict action against those responsible. Authorities have assured that the investigation will be carried out thoroughly and that no one involved will be spared.
Police officials added that statements from neighbors and relatives, along with forensic findings, have strengthened the case against the accused. The family of the deceased has been pressing for justice and urging authorities to ensure that all those complicit in the crime face punishment.
