New Delhi, August 17 — A disturbing case has surfaced in the national capital after a woman alleged that her son raped her twice at their residence. The survivor claimed in her complaint that she was forced to remove her burqa and was physically assaulted during the incidents.
Police officials confirmed that an FIR has been filed following the woman’s statement. The accused has been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to rape, assault, and criminal intimidation. A medical examination has been carried out, and authorities said that efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the accused.
According to police, the woman also stated that she was threatened with consequences if she revealed the matter. She later approached authorities seeking protection and justice.
Women’s rights activists expressed concern over the case, pointing out the vulnerability of survivors when abuse occurs within families. They urged for more awareness campaigns and stronger support systems to encourage reporting of such crimes.
Police assured that the survivor’s safety is being prioritized, with counseling and legal assistance provided. “The matter is being investigated with seriousness, and strict action will follow against the accused,” a senior officer said.
The incident highlights persistent challenges in addressing sexual violence within homes, where fear of stigma often prevents survivors from coming forward.
