Fresh details have emerged in the case of the attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, with police confirming that the accused had visited her residence a day earlier.
According to officials, CCTV footage shows the man loitering near the CM’s house, apparently observing security arrangements. Investigators believe this was part of his preparation before he attempted the attack during a public event.
The accused, who has already admitted his involvement, was arrested immediately after the incident. Police are now checking his movements over the past week and examining whether he had external support.
Authorities have also stepped up security at the Chief Minister’s residence and office following the revelation. Senior officials said lapses, if any, would be reviewed to prevent such breaches in the future.
The incident has sparked political reactions across parties, with leaders condemning the attack and demanding stronger measures to ensure the safety of public representatives.
