Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav has landed in serious trouble after the International Cricket Council (ICC) accepted a complaint filed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over his post-match remarks following the high-voltage Asia Cup clash between India and Pakistan on September 14.
The PCB alleged that Suryakumar’s comments were politically charged and violated the spirit of the game. ICC match referee Richie Richardson has forwarded the matter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), stating that Suryakumar must respond to the charges.
Suryakumar had dedicated India’s win to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and praised the Indian Army. He also revealed that the Indian team did not shake hands with Pakistani players after the match following instructions from the BCCI and the government.
If found guilty, Suryakumar could face disciplinary action from the ICC.
