Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - A bizarre train incident has gone viral after a sleeping passenger accidentally pulled the emergency chain, thinking it was his wife's hand. The unexpected brake activation brought the train to a sudden halt, prompting a swift investigation by railway officials.

The incident occurred late at night in a sleeper coach where passenger was fast asleep in his berth and reached out of his wife's hand but instead he caught the dangling emergency chain and train ground to an immediate stop. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rushed to the coach to identify the cause of the alarm. When questioned, the embarrassed passenger explained that he had no intention of disrupting the journey. He claimed his subconscious mind completely mistook the iron chain for his spouse's hand. The unusual defense quickly spread across social media platforms, sparking a wave of humorous reactions and memes, in which one wrote, 'how a cold metal chain could feel like a hand', others praised the husband's subconscious desire to stay connected to his wife.

Officials let the passenger off with a warning due to unique circumstances, but urged travelers to stay aware of their surroundings, even when sleeping.
