Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - Veteran actor Shabana Azmi briefly fell ill while participating in the Cockroach Janata Party's (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar on Monday, where thousands gathered to demand education reforms and accountability over alleged examination irregularities.
According to reports from the protest site, the 75-year-old actor felt dizzy during the march and was escorted to a security cabin by volunteers and security personnel. Videos circulating on social media showed volunteers assisting Azmi and helping her recover amid the large crowd.
Earlier, Azmi shared pictures and videos from the protest, expressing support for the student movement and welcoming the government's decision to hold talks with CJP leaders. She maintained that the demonstration was peaceful and urged people to focus on the protesters' demands rather than the absence of more Bollywood celebrities.
Despite the health scare, Shabana Azmi reiterated her support for the student-led movement, calling for peaceful dialogue and attention to the issues raised by the protesters.
