Priya Marathe, the acclaimed actor best known for her role in 'Pavitra Rishta', tragically passed away in Mumbai on 31 August 2025 at the age of 38. Marathe had been battling cancer for the past year, with her condition deteriorating despite undergoing treatment. She ultimately breathed her last at her home in Mira Road, Mumbai.
Born on 23 April 1987, Priya Marathe established a significant career across both Hindi and Marathi television and film industries. She rose to prominence playing Varsha Satish in Zee TV's popular daily soap 'Pavitra Rishta'. Her extensive filmography also included roles as Vidya Bali in Balaji Telefilms' 'Kasamh Se' and Jyoti Malhotra in 'Bade Acche Lagte Hain'. She also featured in the 2008 Hindi film 'Humne Jeena Seekh Liya' and the Marathi movie 'Ti Ani Itar'.
Marathe had been married to actor Shantanu Moghe since 2012. Her last public social media post, dated 11 August 2024, featured beautiful, joyful moments with her husband during a trip to Amer Fort in Jaipur. Her untimely demise has left the television and Marathi film industry, alongside her dedicated fanbase, in profound shock.
