India’s acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee recently shared a candid revelation about his enduring career. His wife, Shabana Raza, considers his survival in Bollywood nothing short of a "miracle". After three decades in an industry often favouring glamour, Bajpayee’s unconventional path, prioritizing substance over mainstream acceptance, has defied expectations.
Shabana Raza, also an actress, openly told him, "It’s a miracle that you are still surviving in this industry. You keep offending people and doing films that are not celebrated that much usually... I thought you’d be gone and we’d have to shift somewhere else". Bajpayee, who started from humble beginnings and faced multiple rejections before his breakthrough in Satya, laughed at her honesty but acknowledges his unique choices.
Despite the struggles, Bajpayee has forged an extraordinary career, from Gangs of Wasseypur to The Family Man, becoming an OTT superstar. Off-screen, he maintains a grounded family life with Shabana and their daughter, Ava Nayla, choosing balance and simplicity away from the spotlight. His packed calendar continues, with his upcoming film Jugnuma – The Fable releasing soon.
