National Award-winning actress Kriti Sanon candidly discussed her journey as an outsider at CNN-News18’s SheShakti 2025. The engineering graduate, who transitioned from modelling and debuted in 'Heropanti' (2014), opened up about the significant hurdles faced without a film background, emphasising patience and hard work.
Sanon firmly stated, "Nothing comes easy, there are no free lunches" in Bollywood, asserting the absence of shortcuts for outsiders. She highlighted pervasive negativity, where aspiring talents are often told "why it’s too big a dream" or criticised for physical attributes like being "too short, you’re too tall, you’re too thin". She stressed that "no one’s really going to tell you that you can do it other than you".
Her key advice included maintaining passion, being driven, and having patience. Sanon urged individuals not to give up, suggesting that the years before securing a significant film should be seen as crucial time for "working on yourself, to get better". She is set to appear opposite Dhanush in 'Tere Ishk Mein'.
