Rishab Shetty's epic action-drama Kantara: Chapter 1 has made an impressive debut at the global box office. The film collected approximately ₹90 crore worldwide on its opening day, aided by the Dussehra holiday in India. On its second day, it earned an additional ₹45 crore net domestically, bringing its two-day total to ₹106.85 crore net (₹128.25 crore gross) in India. Internationally, the film grossed over $2.5 million, taking its worldwide gross to more than ₹151 crore.
This remarkable performance has made Kantara: Chapter 1 the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2025, surpassing the lifetime earnings of Su From So (₹92 crore net). The film has also outperformed recent big releases like Mirai (₹142 crore), Kesari Chapter 2 (₹144 crore), and Sky Force (₹150 crore).
With strong word-of-mouth and positive reviews, the film is on track to cross the ₹200 crore mark by Saturday and could reach ₹300 crore by early next week. Directed by Rishab Shetty, who also stars in the lead role, the film serves as a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara. It features performances by Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah.
