Shivani Jaiswal , Haridwar -  Haridwar witnessed a massive gathering of devotees during this year’s Kanwar Yatra. According to the figures shared by the administration, around 4.45 crore devotees reached Haridwar and collected holy Ganga water. A large number of Kanwariyas then began their return journeys carrying the sacred water.

During the holy month of Sawan, Haridwar resonated with chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’. Devotees collected Ganga water from Har Ki Pauri and other ghats before proceeding towards their destinations. The huge turnout also posed a major challenge for the administration in terms of crowd management, traffic control and security.

Special arrangements were made for the safety and convenience of the pilgrims.
The figure of 4.45 crore devotees collecting Ganga water has made this year’s Kanwar Yatra one of the biggest religious gatherings witnessed in Haridwar.
