Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has confirmed that the band will not be dropping its popular kiss cam segment from live shows, even after it became linked to a recent controversy.
The kiss cam, a playful part of the band’s concerts where couples are shown on big screens, drew unexpected attention after it captured Andy Byron in a viral moment that later led to allegations of cheating. The incident sparked debate online, with some suggesting the feature should be removed to avoid similar situations.
Martin, however, defended the tradition, saying it was meant to spread joy and create shared memories among fans. He emphasized that Coldplay concerts are about music, love, and connection, and that the kiss cam has always been a fun way to engage the audience.
Despite the recent scandal, fans have expressed support for keeping the segment, noting that it adds to the inclusive and celebratory atmosphere of the band’s performances.
