Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh has issued an apology to his co-star Anjali Raghav following her accusations of inappropriate touching during a promotional event in Lucknow for their song 'Saiya Seva Kare'. The incident occurred during an on-stage promotion for their new song, where Singh was captured in a viral video touching Raghav's waist multiple times, reportedly claiming something was stuck on it. Raghav appeared visibly uncomfortable at the event.
Deeply disturbed, Anjali Raghav later shared an Instagram video expressing her distress. She questioned, "Do you think I would feel happy or enjoy being touched in public like that?". She explained her inability to react immediately, noting that the crowd revered Singh as "God" The gravity of the situation led her to declare, "I will no longer work in the Bhojpuri industry".
Pawan Singh responded via an Instagram story, apologising and clarifying that he was unaware of her live video due to a "busy schedule". He denied any "wrong intention," emphasising their status as artists. His message concluded, "if you were hurt by my behaviour, then I apologise". This marked Singh's initial public reaction to the controversy. Anjali Raghav subsequently accepted his apology on her Instagram story, writing, "Pawan Singh ji has apologised for his mistake. He is elder to me and a senior artiste… I have forgiven him… I do not want to take this matter further".
