Desk Correspondent , Mumbai - From owning the red carpet at Cannes to joining Instagram’s biggest viral trend of the day, Alia Bhatt blended elegance with Bollywood nostalgia in effortless style. The actor hopped onto the viral ‘May 13’ trend linked to the iconic “Main tera” line from Kalank’s title track, while dazzling fans in a breathtaking saree gown at the Cannes Film Festival 2026.
The ‘May 13’ trend took over social media on Tuesday, with fans linking the date to the viral “Main tera” lyric sung by Arijit Singh in the Kalank title track. Joining the trend herself, Alia shared her latest Cannes look on Instagram Stories and captioned it with a playful “May 13” alongside laughing emojis, delighting fans online. In Kalank, Alia starred opposite Varun Dhawan, alongside Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. Though the 2019 film, backed by Karan Johar, underperformed at the box office, its music continues to enjoy massive popularity years later.
Meanwhile, Alia continued to turn heads at Cannes as the face of L’Oréal Paris for the second consecutive year. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the actor embraced vintage-inspired glamour in a custom couture saree gown by Yash Patil’s label, That Antique Piece. Earlier at the festival’s opening ceremony, she also stunned in a coral-peach Tamara Ralph gown featuring a dramatic silhouette and a flowing scarf inspired by a traditional dupatta.

Whether through a viral Bollywood moment or a show-stopping Cannes appearance, Alia Bhatt once again proved her ability to effortlessly merge global fashion with filmy charm — making May 13 feel a little more cinematic for her fans.
