Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has sold two residential apartments in Mumbai's Borivali East for a combined ₹7.1 crore, continuing his recent streak of high-value real estate transactions. The properties, located in the premium Oberoi Sky City project, were purchased in 2017 and have delivered substantial returns over the years.
According to property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix, the larger of the two apartments, measuring 1,101 sq. ft. in carpet area, was sold for ₹5.75 crore. The transaction attracted a stamp duty of ₹28.75 lakh and includes two car parking spaces. The second unit, a 252 sq. ft. apartment on the same floor, was sold for ₹1.35 crore. The buyer paid ₹6.75 lakh in stamp duty, and the deal includes one car parking space. Both transactions were registered on June 2, 2026, with buyer Suvarna Rupeshkumar Sakpal acquiring the properties. Akshay had originally purchased the larger apartment for ₹3 crore and the smaller unit for ₹67.55 lakh from Incline Realty Pvt Ltd in November 2017. The latest sale reflects a significant appreciation in value, highlighting the strong performance of Mumbai's residential real estate market.
The actor has been actively reshaping his property portfolio over the past two years. In 2025, he sold two adjoining apartments in the same Oberoi Sky City complex for ₹7.1 crore, generating returns of nearly 92 percent over eight years. One of those units fetched ₹5.75 crore, while a studio apartment was sold for ₹1.35 crore. Earlier in January 2025, Akshay sold another apartment in Borivali for ₹4.25 crore. In the same month, he and his wife, author and entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna, sold their luxury apartment in the prestigious Oberoi 360 West project in Worli for ₹80 crore. The actor also exited a commercial investment in Mumbai's Lower Parel in April 2025, selling an office space for ₹8 crore. Purchased in 2020 for ₹4.85 crore, the property delivered an estimated return of 65 percent.
With multiple profitable property transactions in recent years, Akshay Kumar continues to demonstrate a keen eye for real estate investments. The latest ₹7.1 crore sale further strengthens his track record of capitalising on Mumbai's booming property market while diversifying his investment portfolio.
