Delhi Police are investigating a case in which a woman was allegedly drugged, assaulted, and filmed by her friend and three other individuals. The incident reportedly took place earlier this month in the city, and the victim approached authorities after recovering from the ordeal.
According to police, the woman had met her friend at a gathering where she was offered a drink. She later alleged that the drink had been spiked, leaving her disoriented. Taking advantage of her condition, the friend and three associates allegedly took her to a separate location, where she was subjected to sexual assault.
Investigators stated that the accused also recorded the act on a mobile phone. The video was reportedly used to intimidate the victim into silence. However, she managed to lodge a formal complaint, prompting the police to register a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Authorities have confirmed that one of the accused has been detained for questioning, while efforts are underway to trace the others. Police teams are also examining digital evidence, including CCTV footage from the area and possible recovery of the recorded material.
Senior officers have urged the public to exercise caution in social situations and to immediately report suspicious incidents. The case has sparked outrage among local women’s rights groups, who have demanded swift justice and stronger deterrents against sexual crimes in the city.
