Ananya Lohia , Ayodhya - The investigation into the alleged donation embezzlement at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya gathered pace on Wednesday after police recovered key land-related documents from one of the main accused, Ramashankar Mishra, during a search of his rented residence.
Police searched the rented house of Ramashankar Mishra and seized land-related documents along with the digital video recorder of the CCTV system. Mishra and co-accused Subhash Srivastava were also questioned for nearly 14 hours as investigators examined their alleged role in the misuse of temple donations. Officials are also verifying bank transactions and property records linked to the accused.
The probe has already led to the recovery of cash, gold, vehicles and investment documents allegedly purchased using misappropriated donations. Investigators suspect that part of the diverted funds was invested in the stock market and routed through bank accounts to conceal its origin. The Special Investigation Team is expected to submit its final report to the Uttar Pradesh government within the next 48 hours.
As the investigation enters its final phase, authorities continue to examine financial records and seized documents to uncover the full extent of the alleged Ram Temple donation scam.
