Sources report that Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to formally meet several opposition party leaders on the evening of October 7.  The meetings are expected to initiate a dialogue process, and over the following days he plans to hold further discussions with other opposition members.

These meetings come less than a month after Radhakrishnan assumed his role as the Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, indicating an early outreach to political parties across the spectrum.  No detailed agenda has yet been released, but observers view the meetings as a step toward smoothing parliamentary cooperation and maintaining institutional dialogue.
