Security forces in Manipur have arrested six insurgents in a major operation, four of whom were caught near the Indo-Myanmar border. The arrests come amid intensified efforts to curb militant activity in the region.
According to officials, the joint operation was carried out based on intelligence inputs about the movement of armed groups. The arrested individuals are suspected to be linked with insurgent outfits operating across the border. Weapons and other materials were reportedly seized during the operation.
Authorities said that the crackdown is part of ongoing measures to ensure stability in Manipur, which has faced prolonged unrest and cross-border militant infiltration. Investigations are underway to identify the larger network and possible plans of the arrested insurgents.
The arrests are seen as a significant step in tightening security along the sensitive border areas and reducing the influence of insurgent groups in the state.
