Actress Neha Dhupia (44) has recently spoken out about the significant judgement and trolling she experienced for becoming pregnant before her marriage to Angad Bedi. The couple wed in May 2018, and their first child, Mehr, was born six months later in November 2018. Dhupia highlighted that the "biggest conversation" around their wedding was questioning how the baby arrived in just six months.
She described the constant trolling as "ridiculous" but expressed pride in being on the "same list" as Alia Bhatt and Neena Gupta, who also faced similar public scrutiny for their pregnancy timelines. Alia Bhatt welcomed her baby seven months after marrying, while Neena Gupta had a child outside of wedlock.
Dhupia stressed the critical need to normalise discussions around women's health and related topics, rather than treating them as taboo. She aims to spread awareness, break myths, and remind women they are not alone in their journeys. Dhupia and Bedi are parents to daughter Mehr and son Guriq, born in October 2021.
