On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Dasara, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in Mysuru. He highlighted Gandhi’s lifelong dedication to truth, non-violence, and social justice, and recalled Shastri’s message of simplicity and the slogan “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan,” which continues to inspire the nation.
Siddaramaiah urged people to uphold Gandhiji’s ideals of peace, harmony, and equality in today’s society, stressing that these principles are essential for strengthening democracy. He also extended heartfelt greetings for the grand Mysuru Dasara, noting the festival’s cultural richness and historical importance in showcasing Karnataka’s heritage.
