Israel has carried out fresh air strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen's capital Sanaa on Sunday, two days after the Houthis launched an aerial assault on Israel. The Israeli Air Force reportedly struck multiple Houthi military infrastructure sites, including a location in the Presidential Palace, a fuel storage site, and two power stations in Assar and Heiza areas.
An official from the Houthi health ministry reported that six people died and 67 were wounded in these strikes. The Israeli army claimed these strikes were in response to repeated Houthi attacks against Israel and its civilians.
On Friday, August 22nd, the Iran-backed Houthis had launched an assault with a ballistic missile carrying a cluster bomb warhead at Israel, which they claimed successfully hit Ben Gurion Airport. Israeli air force investigations indicated this was the first time Houthis had used this type of weapon against Israel during the ongoing war. Both sides have vowed to continue their actions.
