Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that both India and Pakistan are prepared to hold discussions not only on Kashmir but also on a range of other issues affecting bilateral ties. His statement has raised hopes of a possible thaw in relations between the two neighbours after years of strained engagement.
Dar noted that dialogue is the only way forward to resolve long-pending disputes and to strengthen regional stability. He emphasized that Islamabad is willing to explore constructive talks covering trade, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges alongside the Kashmir question.
Relations between India and Pakistan have been tense since the suspension of formal talks in recent years, particularly after the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. While both sides maintain firm positions on key issues, the foreign minister’s comments suggest an openness to broader engagement.
Observers believe any progress will depend on political will in both capitals and the ability to build trust through incremental steps. No official timeline for talks has been announced yet.
