Heavy downpours lashed Delhi and its surrounding areas on Tuesday morning, bringing brief relief from the intense heat but also triggering widespread waterlogging and commuting chaos.
Parts of Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad recorded heavy rainfall, with certain underpasses such as Zakhira in Delhi being inundated and rendering some roads impassable. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts generally cloudy weather with intermittent drizzle or light rain across the NCR throughout the day.
The IMD has issued alerts: Delhi and Gurugram are under an orange alert until 2:55 pm, while Noida and Ghaziabad are under a yellow alert for possible further showers.
