A Delhi University assistant professor was found dead at his residence in the national capital, police officials said on Saturday. The incident has sparked concern among colleagues, students, and members of the academic
Authorities were alerted after repeated attempts to contact the professor reportedly went unanswered. Upon reaching the flat, police discovered the body and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Officials stated that a forensic team was called to examine the scene, and evidence was collected as part of the inquiry. The body was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police have not indicated any immediate signs of foul play and said all possible angles are being examined. Investigators are also reviewing the professor's recent activities and speaking with acquaintances to establish a clearer timeline of events.
The deceased was known among students and colleagues for his contributions to teaching and academic research. News of the incident has prompted an outpouring of condolences from members of the university community.
