Delhi Police have taken into custody a 25-year-old man from Haryana who is accused of killing his girlfriend in her rented accommodation in South Delhi’s Kotla Mubarakpur area.
The accused, Himanshu of Hansi, allegedly visited the victim’s flat on Tuesday evening. What began as a heated argument over his suspicion of her being involved with another man reportedly escalated when he attacked her with a kitchen knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds. After the assault, he locked the room from the outside and fled.
The victim, identified as Sakshi, worked at a private firm in Okhla and had been staying in that flat for about a year. Police were alerted around 9:19 pm when a call reported commotion and bloodstains in the building. Responding officers broke into the locked room and found her bleeding heavily. She was rushed to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
