The highly anticipated ninth season of Bigg Boss Telugu is set to premiere on Sunday, 7 September, at 7 PM. Superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni returns as the host for the controversial reality show, which will air on Star Maa and stream live on JioHotstar. According to reports, Nagarjuna is charging Rs 30 crore for this season, an increase from his previous fee.
This year, the show introduces a brand-new double-house format, promising to double the entertainment with a mix of celebrities and commoners. The season is built around the theme "Agnipariksha," meaning "trial by fire," reflecting the intense challenges contestants will face. The house is currently being prepared at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.
To select the commoner participants, the makers held a pre-show where 45 contestants were judged by former stars, with 15 being chosen to move forward. While the final celebrity list is yet to be officially announced, names like Naga Durga, Sriteja, Ritu Chowdary, and Navya Swamy are reportedly being considered. Fans are eagerly awaiting the unique drama expected from the new format.
