Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - Days after demotion, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Friday 24, 2026 announced his decision to quit Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Chadha along with Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak, and around 2/3 leaders of the party announced that they will be joining BJP. The development comes at a time when discussions around internal differences within the party have already been making headlines.
According to circulating reports, Raghav Chadha is believed to be unhappy with recent developments within the party, leading to speculation about his next political move. While details remain unclear, discussions about internal disagreements and leadership dynamics have added to the buzz around this situation. He also mentioned that, 'He is the right man in the wrong party'. If such a move happens, it could impact the party’s presence, especially in the Rajya Sabha, where numbers play a crucial role in legislative decisions. Chadha alleged that the AAP was no longer working in the interest of the country, but for 'personal gains', the party that was formed in the name of eliminating corruption is now in the hands of compromised individuals. Chadha describing his association with the party, he said he had nurtured this party with his 'blood and sweat' and he was a founding member and no one can know this party better than him. This is no longer the same party, he said.
Chadha also added that he had stayed away from party activities for the past year and he can't support what he believed is wrong doings. The move could prove to be a major turning point for both Aam Aadmi Party and the Bhartiya Janata Party. With Raghav Chadha at the center of the speculation, the coming days will be crucial in determining how this political equation unfolds.
