In the holy city of Ayodhya, the grand “Deepotsav 2025” festival witnessed a majestic spectacle as Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, conducted the ceremonial coronation of Lord Ram at the thematic venue of Ramkatha Park.
Framed as a reenactment of the mythic Treta Yuga grandeur, the ceremony featured representations of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughna arriving via a “Pushpak Vimaan” style helicopter to the event platform. At the ritual’s heart, tens of lakhs of lamps were laid out: 29,25,051 lamps were placed and 26,11,101 lamps were to be lit, as part of efforts to set a world record.
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi declared Ayodhya to be a symbol of heritage and development. He asserted that in places once marred by violence, lights now shine bright. He also claimed that under the leadership of Narendra Modi the era of “Ram Rajya” is being realised through improved law and order and welfare schemes for the poor.
