Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - The box office run of Alpha, the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe, has slowed considerably after the film registered a sharp drop in collections on its second day. Despite expectations of strong weekend growth, the action thriller failed to sustain its opening-day momentum amid mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and audiences.

According to early estimates, the Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer collected Rs 3.11 crore on its first Saturday, taking its total India net collection to Rs 12.36 crore after an opening-day haul of Rs 9.25 crore. Released across 7,534 screens nationwide, the film was expected to witness an upward trend over the weekend but instead saw a significant decline in earnings.

The disappointing performance has made Alpha the weakest second-day performer in the YRF Spy Universe so far. The film lagged behind previous franchise blockbusters such as War 2, Pathaan and Tiger 3, while also earning less than recent releases like Mardaani 3 and Alia Bhatt's previous film, Jigra, on their respective second days.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha also features Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor, with Hrithik Roshan making a special appearance as Kabir. With the weekend still underway, the film's performance over the next two days will be crucial in determining whether it can recover at the box office.
