Actor Ahaan Panday, 27, has opened up about his arduous journey to a successful Bollywood debut as Krish Kapoor in 'Saiyaara'. Despite his newfound popularity, Panday endured years of setbacks and delays. He revealed that while he never felt bitter about his delayed debut, he did feel "wronged" by some people, though he chose not to elaborate personally. He found inspiration in these experiences for his acting.
Panday was initially slated to debut in a "larger-than-life film" with YRF after seven years of workshops, but the project was cancelled due to industry changes post-pandemic. His confidence was also significantly shattered following the passing of his grandmother, whom he described as his "backbone".
During these challenging times, Panday worked as an Assistant Director on projects such as 'The Railway Men', 'Freaky Ali', and 'Rock On 2', expressing gratitude to be on set. His perseverance eventually paid off with 'Saiyaara', which became a massive success, earning over Rs 500 crores worldwide and shattering records for newcomer-led films and love stories in Indian cinema.
